This group project was completed by five graduate students at Kent State University: Rachel Christian, Nick Muffet, Allison Bosworth, Seth McKenna, and myself, John Brown VI. Our problem to analyze in this project was "How can design assist Covid-19 vaccinations in disenfranchised communities?"
I was responsible for determining research methods, conducting initial primary and secondary and follow up research including moderating and transcribing interviews. My colleagues also contributed research and graphics.
We determined that there is a strong distrust of government and medical officials however this phenomenon is extremely present in the black community. While the scope of the project was limited, we determined that in order to increase vaccinations in marginalized communities, a centralized hub of information and vaccine resources was necessary so a trusted source and healthy relationship can be established.
